AIYANA    $100 (Dan Hansen - Spring 2011) A large bold plum eye around the yellow-green throat, while a wide matching plum edge adorns the tips of the egg shell petals, which actually re-curve back farther than the sepals, creating a distinct look on this "tweener" flower. From the Sioux Indians, meaning "eternal flower", this daylily lives up to it's name and with a bud count of 20 and 4 way branching it is truly a delight to see this blossom...many blooms over a long period of time. Growing daylilies is an American pastime and as we know, melon daylilies were the first ones. I'd like to think this yellow orange self is one of the sweetest in the "melon" world, with a glowing orange throat and matching ruffled edge, it grabs your attention from across the garden. I find it rare to see this clean petal color with a true blue eye zone, definitely a show stopper!
