MICHIGAN NIKKI        (Dan Hansen Fall 2010)        $60
Evergreen, 32" Scapes, Early-Mid Season, Re-blooms, 8" Flowers, Always sure of herself constantly smiling, this flower simulates the woman it was named after. Nikki Schmith of Dearborn Heights, Michigan saw this doll face during the National Convention in 2009 and told us how much she loved it!  After growing it (successfully) in her garden up north, it has received Nikki's seal of approval!  A strawberry pink eye sits atop creamy yellow petals and sepals while the matching strawberry edge sashays around the tips of the petals and down to the delightful chartreuse throat.  Great height and large blooms make MICHIGAN NIKKI the swell pick for any garden!
Fertile, Bud Count 20, Branching 4 way.

"This was an early bloomer for me and it never measured under 7.5". The scapes measured 32 & 33 inches."

*MISSISSIPPI DELTA    $150 (Dan Hansen - Spring 2011) Down in the swamps of the south, some areas are shallow and others are deep in this sculpted, yellow, triangular throat that is like a flood, flowing through multiple channels and veins onto the mahogany petals, and out to the thin white edge. I was either going to name this daylily "Mutt", the nickname Earl is affectionately known as, or I was going to call it "Mississippi" something since Earl Watts (a man who has been in daylilies since the beginning of time) asked me to name a daylily with the state’s name in it. Evergreen, 23" Scapes, Early-Early Season, Re-blooms, 5.5" Flowers, 3 way branching, 15 bud count, Fertile both ways! [GROOVY GRAPE x (WHAT A SURPRISE x KEYS TO THE KINGDOM)]

*MORAL FIBER      (Dan Hansen ’09)     C $35

Ev, 24” scapes, M, Re, 5” flowers, Noc, Ext, Relief sculpted.  Pink with a yellow ruffled edge and yellow throat. The raised fibers on the honest pink petals truly make this flower unique. The gene pool for surface textures is improving - all colors, round fancy forms, great plant habit, ability to pass on sculpting traits, and consistency. MF is a good increaser – GROOVY GAL, its parent, is being introduced this year also!  BR 3 BC 20 Very fertile both ways.
